Research
Research is key to advancing knowledge on any subject. When working toward cultural or behavioural change, research helps us understand where an organization or community group is and what are areas for improvement.
Systematic and careful inquiry
Social Fabric Institute Inc. conducts systematic and careful inquiries into communities or organizations to gain a better understanding of their cultures. This can take many shapes, including:
Primary research, in which employees may be asked to complete surveys or attend one-on-one interviews or a focus group
Secondary research, in which individual employees are not directly involved, but the researchers have a sole client contact
Depending on the scope of the research being conducted, an organization gains:
A better understanding of where they are in their diversity, equity, and inclusion efforts
Solutions for solving diversity, equity, and inclusion-related challenges
Strategies for supporting their clients or community members
Insight for making stronger arguments to funders or stakeholders on why a particular project is particularly important and is deserving of support
The process
At the outset of the research process, Social Fabric Institute establishes what each client wants to learn. From there, we can formulate the right research questions and suitable methodologies to reach those goals. No matter the scope or type of research being conducted, we pay particular attention to ethical standards, meaningful inquiry, and effective, quality processes.
At the end of a research project Social Fabric Institute Inc. can share research results through various knowledge dissemination platforms such as presentations, visual representation, and/or reports.
